The Courtier: The Local Magazine of Ewell Court Residents' Association (est. 1938)
A tri-yearly local political magazine featuring articles from councillors, community members, and local businesses. Residents of Ewell Court rely on this magazine for updates, events, and reports about local governmental issues. Due to the target demographic of the area being people 40+, I ensured that the design was legible, using one versatile font family (IBM Plex Sans and Serif), and had a series of set colours that I use.
Since taking over this role from the previous editor, I introduced a fresh new design which received many compliments from committee members and residents. Until 2025 I was designing voluntarily, however after negotiations with the client, it became a paid position.

As a member of the Ewell Court area, our natural spaces are an important part of why I grew up admiring nature. The Courtier magazine is an opportunity for me, as editor, to celebrate our natural spaces by including my own recurring article, "Nature Spotlight", where I focus on a part of Ewell Court Parks rich diversity in the hope that readers can learn more about the environment we live in.
I have written articles about mushrooms, ginkgo trees, moss, lichen, and many more species from the natural world. When I took on the role as editor, I also introduced using photography of the park on the front cover, which has gathered lots of positive feedback from the committee.
