30+1 with ABK Stuttgart
About
As part of the “30+1” design event between UCA and ABK Stuttgart's Klasse Roberts, from day 01 to 30 of December 2023, myself and ABK student Basti Steinhauer swapped and responded to each other’s designs with no context or contact.

Zero communication, one month, two design schools
30+1 was organised by my course director David Shaw, and Lucienne Roberts of ABK Stuttgart — aiming to generate unrestrained creativity between students of different design schools. The lack of communication between each pair of designers required a trust to be punctual and committed, as well as being able to think outside the box when it came to responding to each other's previous designs.
After completing the 30 days of back-and-forth designs, I was able to have a video call with Basti to discuss our experiences, and collaborate to create our final GIF of 60 images (we arranged ours by colour rather than chronologically). I absolutely loved this experiment, and enjoyed the unpredictability.
Zero communication, one month, two design schools
Each pair of students designed to a specific aspect ratio, as the final animations would be displayed in ABK Stuttgart's screen-filled Nam June Paik wall in Neubau 2. All images and videos used from the event were taken by students Ava Hösl and Susan Hösl.
